Pray

Congregation Beth Israel welcomes you to join us in prayer, in song, and in celebration of Jewish community.

We are an egalitarian and traditional community, and together we celebrate our wealth of holidays, life-cycle events, and the weekly boon of Shabbat.  Services at Congregation Beth Israel are warm and communal, lead as often by laity as they are by our rabbi.

Our liturgy is typically traditional.  Many of our members who are not fluent in Hebrew find that they have many opportunities to learn and participate.  We use Siddur Sim Shalom, but you will find Lev Shalem uses inspired English readings along side the Hebrew prayers.  This newer siddur also offers translations, transliterations (Hebrew rendered in the Roman alphabet), and many inspired explanations for the liturgy.

We are resuming in-person services as of June 5th, for Shabbat morning services at 10am.

The following rules will apply for attendance.  These rules are fluid and we will send updates via email and on this site.

  • We will admit all who wish to attend our services regardless of vaccination status, with the caveat that we will not admit people determined to be a risk to our congregants.
  • Masking will be required of everyone other than the service leader.
  • Social distancing will be observed.
  • Children are welcome to attend provided they can remain with a parent.  The Epstein Complex may not be available in June as socially-distanced space for children requiring a break from services.  The basement is currently unavailable.
  • Children under the age of 5 are not required to be masked.

For those unable to attend, or those who are uncomfortable returning in person, you may view our services at the following links:
