Congregation Beth Israel welcomes you to join us in prayer, in song, and in celebration of Jewish community.
We are an egalitarian and traditional community, and together we celebrate our wealth of holidays, life-cycle events, and the weekly boon of Shabbat. Services at Congregation Beth Israel are warm and communal, lead as often by laity as they are by our rabbi.
Our liturgy is typically traditional. Many of our members who are not fluent in Hebrew find that they have many opportunities to learn and participate. We use Siddur Sim Shalom, but you will find Lev Shalem uses inspired English readings along side the Hebrew prayers. This newer siddur also offers translations, transliterations (Hebrew rendered in the Roman alphabet), and many inspired explanations for the liturgy.
