Religious School at Beth Israel

Chevruta is a group of friends learning together

Our Hebrew School provides a foundation in Jewish learning that will enable its graduates to live joyful Jewish lives in a world that is swiftly evolving.

It is our belief that by providing a comprehensive background in Hebrew literacy, Jewish tradition and life skills, we are laying a firm foundation for a life of Jewish exploration, growth, and joy.

We also believe that connecting our students to Jews throughout our community and Maine is incredibly important.  Jewish life can grow and flourish in Bangor, and our students will feel part of Jewish civilization in its fullest.

Chevruta Mishpachim

We focus on the whole family education at our Chevruta Mishpachim events.  Outside of the pandemic, we’re offering adult Hebrew instruction on Saturday mornings.

We have four planned sessions a year, often combined with our friends at Reform Congregation Beth El.  We have parties for holidays and other sessions.  This year we did an outdoor activity for the High Holidays.  Please keep an eye on the calendar, your emails, this website and Facebook for more updates.
