In November of 2021, Bangor Daily News released its “Unguarded” report, about a predatory culture in the Maine National Guard.  Since then, the state legislature and the Governor’s office have endeavored alongside senior and mid-level leaders in the Air and Army National Guard.

While work remains to be done, resources for survivors of Military Sexual Trauma remain hard to find.

We will screen a film, #IAmVanessaGuillen, a Univision documentary that honors the soldier who was raped and murdered on Fort Hood by discussing the resilience of survivors of military sexual trauma, and their fight to change the system that silenced them.

The panel to follow will include representatives from the Sisters and Arms Center and other survivor-oriented groups, as well as current and former members of the Guard*.

Please consider a generous gift to the Sisters in Arms Center, to provide housing and help for women veterans.

* views expressed will not represent the Army, Air Force, or Maine National Guard.
